LafargeHolcim Maroc Afrique has launched construction of a new 0.5Mta plant in the Cameroonian locality of Nomayos, near Yaoundé. The new project required a total investment of EUR42.6m (US$45.7m).

The plant project has been launched via Cimencam, LafargeHolcim Maroc Afrique’s local branch, and is expected to increase Cimencam’s annual production to 2Mta.

With the addition of the new plant, Cimencam will control Cameroon’s cement monopoly and be able to meet both domestic and foreign demand.
