NORINCO International Cooperation Ltd has signed a contract with Jabal Bazian Co for General Trading for the construction of a new cement plant in Iraq, the Chinese engineering contractor announced.

The US$445m contract was signed in Iraq on Monday, according to the announcement posted on the website of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. The order covers the plant's production line design, purchasing, construction management, operational work as well as  administration buildings, dormitories and other facilities, it said.

This is NORINCO's first order in the Iraqi market. (Source: Global Times, China)
