Gharibwal WHR plant starts operations

Gharibwal Cement Ltd has started operations from its 20MW waste heat recovery (WHR) system as well as a conveyor belt at its plant located in Chakwal district, Punjab Province, Pakistan.

Earlier, the company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that it has finalised a contract with CITIC of China for the supply of an 8000tpd line together with a waste heat recovery system.

Furthermore, the first shipment of equipment relating to Gharibwal's new 250tph grinding mill has arrived and erection work has started. The mill is expected to become operational by the third quarter of 2017.
 
For the six months to the end of December 2016, Gharibwal Cement's sale volumes increased by around four per cent. Higher sales helped mitigate an increase in coal and fuel prices. During the period, its cement dispatches rose by four per cent YoY to 736,712t.
