SCG establishes joint venture logistics company in Indonesia

SCG Cement - Building Materials Company (SCG), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siam Cement Co (SCC) and PT Barito Investa Prima, have agreed to establish PT SCG Barito Logistics in Indonesia.

The investment has an enterprise value of approximately THB162m (US$4.8m), whereby SCC will hold an indirect stake of 49 per cent through SCG, PT Barito Investa Prima will hold the remainder. This joint venture is aimed at enhancing the logistic network coverage and cost efficiencies for both companies. Operations are expected to commence in 4Q17.

In Thailand, the logistics business of SCG Cement - Building Materials recorded FY16 sales of
approximately TBH15,000m, with services including transportation, warehousing, express delivery, import-export services and temperature control logistics.
