Pollution control authority requests plant closure

India's Kakatiya Cement & Sugar Industries Ltd have been informed to close its cement division operations on directions from the pollution control authority.

Following instructions sent by the Pollution Control Board, the supply of power to Kakatiya Cement and Sugar Industries Ltd's cement division was disconnected yesterday evening.

The company, which operates a plant in the Nalgonda District of Andhra Pradesh, is in the process of pursuing the matter with the pollution control authority for resolution of the issues that led to the issue of of closure directions.
