Than Taw Myat Company has doubled its production capacity to at its cement plant in Kyaukse township, Mandalay, Myanmar, to 10,000tpd with a second 5000tpd kiln line.

The factory, which produces Double Rhinos cement, is now the largest cement production factory in Myanmar. The new production line, which was constructed by China's Sinoma International Engineering, was completed across 15,000 acres of land next to the existing factory. It is equipped with European machinery and technology.

Other Myanmar cement projects
In September, South Korea’s LG International started test production at its cement plant in Myanmar. The plant is run as a joint venture operation with local company Blue Diamond, according to the Korea Economic Daily. LG International invested US$40m for a 51 per cent stake in the business in 2015.

Earlier this year, another South Korean company, Yojin Construction & Engineering, began construction of two Loesche cement mills with its local partner at the Thilawa Special Economic Zone in Yangon.
