Leading cement companies form the GCCA
31 January 2018

Nine leading companies in the cement sector have launched the Global Cement & Concrete Association (GCCA). The founding members are Cemex, CNBM, CRH, Dangote, Eurocement, HeidelbergCement, LafargeHolcim, Taiheiyo and Votorantim. The GCCA has been created to develop and strengthen the industry’s contribution to sustainable construction, according to a press release.

In order to achieve this, the GCCA will promote the development of durable and environmentally conscious infrastructure at a global level. Due to the heightened consumption levels of concrete, the organisation’s agenda will focus on sustainable development and urbanisation, as well as climate change and mitigation.

Through collaboration with industry associations and professionals, GCCA aims to develop innovation in the construction value chain.  While the association will have headquarters in London, membership is available for cement manufacturers the world over.
