Colacem completes Maddaloni Cement acquisition

Colacem SpA acquired on 1 June 2018 the entire share capital of Maddaloni Cement Srl, owner of a 0.3Mta cement manufacturing plant based in Maddaloni (CE), from Cementir Italia SpA (HeidelbergCement group).

The transaction, which has been successfully finalised by the directors of the Colacem Board, will increase the domestic market share held by Colacem.

"This step demonstrates our trust in the potential of our country and in the role cement will play as an indispensable product today as well as in the future for economic and social development," said a statement from Colacem.

"We are now expecting very interesting results that will permit us to look at future goals more optimistically, therefore focussing on increasing corporate profitability, which has been negatively conditioned by the construction sector recession experienced over the past years."
