CTIEC to start Adrar Line 2 procurement

China Triumph International Engineering Co Ltd (CTIEC) will start equipment procurement for the US$211m second production line of the Adrar plant in Algeria, which is under development by STG Engineering and Real Estate Development Co. FLSmidth, Thyssenkrupp AG and Fives SA are among the likely suppliers, according to Inside International Industrials.

The new line will at 4200tpd of cement production capacity to the plant, which was inaugurated in August 2017. Upon completion the extra output will supply southern Algeria with the potential to export any surpluses into neighbouring countries.

CTIEC was selected as EPC contractor while its subsidiary Beijing Triumph International Engineering Co Ltd will carry out the engineering design. The company has been actively identifying opportunities in the building materials and engineering markets in Algeria in response to China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Algeria lies at the westernmost segment of the initiative.
