Uzbekistan's Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (MMC) has commissioned its 1.5Mta Sherabad cement plant based in Vandob, Surkhandarya. The US$212.8m project was carried out by DAL Teknik Makina on a turnkey basis.

The cement produced will be fundamental to meet the demand in the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, while Almalyk MMC also plans to export cement in the future.
