Guinée Industries Cement starts expanded works
02 October 2018

Guinée Industries Cement announced the official start of its upgraded cement production facility on 29 September 2018. The modernised works has increased its capacity from 0.7Mta to 1.4Mta.

"I think today is a big sigh of relief and great comfort for our group. Because our vision is to facilitate the supply of major infrastructure projects in the country in quality product. Today, with this doubling of our production capacity from 700,000t to 1,400,000t, I think this goal we have set ourselves is achieved. Because we now have behind us all the harassment that we had known in this country, all the shortages of cement and all the problems of supplying strategic projects important for this country. Because with this new capacity, we have enough cement and we will significantly increase the supply we can put on the Guinean market, "said Mohamed Nabé, commercial director of Guinée Industries Cement.

Guinea’s cement demand at present is around 1.7Mta with domestic capacity at 2Mta.
