Ukrainian embargo on Russian clinker imports will not affect supply
10 October 2018

The Ukrainian government’s embargo on Russian clinker imports will not create a shortage of products on the country’s market, according to Pavlo Kachur, head of the Ukrcement Association of Cement Manufacturers.

"There is enough capacity for burning clinker on the Ukrainian market, so we don't need to import it, especially from Russia. According to Pro-Consulting, the capacity of clinker burning facilities in Ukraine is more than 15Mt. In 2017, we made 6.3Mt of clinker and imported 877,000t from Russia. This means that we can easily replace imports with clinker made in Ukraine," Mr Kachur said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
