Cementos Progreso tests new San Gabriel plant

Guatamala-based Cementos Progreso has completed its investment of GTQ3.85bn (US$501m) at its San Gabriel plant in San Juan Sacatepequez.

Tests were launched in 2018 and are expected to continue in the next few months before the 4500tpd plant enters commercial operation. Initially output will be sold in the domestic market, but in the longer term, Cementos Progreso expects to export some of the production volume.
