Following a stoppage of several months, the transport of clinker has resumed in the Port of Málaga, Spain, after the installation of a pioneering conveyor belt. The first shipment of 4800t of clinker being loaded is a vessel bound for Ireland.
FYM-HeidelbergCement has invested EUR2.5m in the new belt, which is expected to significantly reduce dust emissions. The 650tph belt is completely enclosed and has a dust extraction system.
It is expected that the new operation will reach full capacity in August, with movements of 30,000-40,000t.
