The planned cement plant by Inversiones Orange in San Bernardo, Greater Santiago, Chile, is not welcome with the local population. While the project has not yet secured authorisation, the facility is expected to impact local transport and people’s health due to the number of trucks and the toxic effects of clinker, according to the environmental coordinator of El Bosque and San Bernardo.
If the plant is approved, Inversiones Orange will be the third company operating in the area, in addition to BSA El Bosque and Redimix.
