Lucky Cement updates progress on overseas and local projects

Lucky Cement is currently implementing two cement projects:  the overseas cement plant in Samawah in Iraq and the 2.6Mta brownfield cement plant expansion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan.

According to Lucky Cement's annual report for 2019, the first shipment of plant and machinery from Sinoma to the Samawah site is expected to start of October 2019. Commissioning will take place in FY20-21.
 
Similarly, the letter of credit for the power plant in Iraq has been established and shipment from Wårtsilå is expected in the month of December 2019. The civil team has been mobilised and the contract of mechanical work will be finalised and team will be mobilised accordingly.

Meanwhile, the work at brownfield cement plant expansion in KPK Province of Pakistan is also moving forward as per schedule. The director's report says that with the arrival of over 90 per cent of plant and machinery shipments the civil, erection and fabrication work at project site is in full swing and remains on target to achieve commercial operations in the second quarter of FY19-20.
