Danucem’s Banská Bystrica plant adds alternative fuels line

Companies Ecorec Slovensko and GreenTech Slovakia have joined forces and launched a new line for the production of alternative fuels at Danucem’s (CRH) Banská Bystrica concrete plant, Slovakia. Plastic waste that cannot be recycled again, will serve as a raw material for the production of alternative fuels.

In the future, alternative fuels could replace up to 90 per cent of the energy sources needed to produce cement, bringing a range of environmental benefits - starting with the recovery of waste that would otherwise end up in a landfill, the reduction of CO₂ emissions or the saving of non-renewable natural resources.
