Cambodia’s Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has issued a licence for a new cement plant project in Kratie province with a registered investment value of US$286m.

The project has been approved under the country’s qualified investment project framework and is seen as a step toward strengthening domestic industrial capacity. Cambodia currently has six cement plants in operation with a combined production capacity of 10.85Mta.
