Indian cement consumption grew 9.2 per cent YoY in 2025, amounting to 485Mt. This was a robust acceleration from growth of 6.2 per cent YoY in 2024. India is the second largest consumer of cement in the world after China.
The country is also the second largest producer. Cement production rose 9.9 per cent YoY in 2025, amounting to 484Mt, up from 441Mt in 2024. Cement production rose 13.5 per cent YoY in December 2025, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
