Riyadh Cement Co has announced the commencement of trial operations for its waste heat recovery (WHR) power generation project, following the contract signing with Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd in November 2023.
The company said the WHR system is expected to be fully integrated into its operations in the second half of this year. Once fully operational, the project is anticipated to reduce energy costs and lower the environmental impact of emissions by utilising waste heat from the production process to generate electricity.
Riyadh Cement added that details regarding the total project cost, and any changes thereto, will be disclosed upon completion of the project.
