UK industrial operations specialist G. Leonard has rebranded as Leonard as it begins a new growth phase focused on improving safety during plant shutdowns.

The Cookstown, Northern Ireland-based company plans significant investment over the next five years in a new headquarters and manufacturing facility, alongside an expanded operational presence in North America.

The rebrand coincides with the forthcoming launch of Leonard’s Descender robotic demolition and installation arms, designed to reduce the need for personnel to enter confined and potentially unstable refractory-lined structures during shutdowns. The company is also working with Ulster University and Innovate UK Business Connect to develop semi-autonomous capabilities and increased data capture across its equipment range.

Cement remains a core market for Leonard, which provides refractory and demolition services for kilns, preheater towers and other high-temperature assets. The company is also targeting growth in the metals, petrochemical, biomass and waste-to-energy sectors.
