The Angolan government has dissolved state-owned National Cement Company of Angola (Nova Cimangola) as part of the restructuring of the country's public business sector.
The dissolution was approved under Presidential Decree No 152/26, with the Institute for the Management of State Assets and Holdings (IGAPE) appointed to liquidate the company's assets. The process is expected to be completed within 12 months of the decree's publication on 17 August 2026.
IGAPE said Cimangola, established in 1957, no longer fulfilled the corporate purpose for which it was created and there were no strategic reasons to retain it within the public sector.
The government stressed that the decision applies only to Cimangola and does not affect Nova Cimangola SA, which continues its industrial and commercial activities in Angola's cement sector.
