Holcim has appointed Adham El Sharkawy as CEO of its UK business, effective from 1 September 2026.
Mr El Sharkawy has worked for Holcim Group for 18 years and most recently served as CEO of its Algerian operations. He has more than 20 years of experience in the building materials and construction sector, including leadership roles across the Middle East, Africa and other growth markets.
He said the UK represented one of Holcim’s most competitive markets and that the business would seek to unlock further growth under the group’s NextGen Growth strategy.
Danny King, who served as interim CEO, will remain with Holcim UK as managing director for aggregates, asphalt and contracting.
