Aerzen has expanded its process gas compression portfolio with gearbox-driven turbo compressors designed for applications requiring high volume flows and high pressures.

The company said its compact radial compressors can be configured for a wide range of process gases and gas mixtures, including corrosive, toxic and flammable media. The integrated gearbox uses a central main gear with separate pinion shafts, enabling individual compressor stages to be adjusted to suit specific operating and compression requirements.

Design and rating of the compressors and auxiliary packages are undertaken by GPE Turbo, part of the Aerzen Group. The company also produces impellers in-house and develops customised oil systems, gastight sealing solutions, PLC programming and measurement technology.

Aerzen said the technology is suited to a range of industrial applications, including steelmaking, power generation, chemical and process engineering, as well as hydrogen and CO2 processing. Its wider turbo portfolio covers pressures of up to 300bar and volume flows of up to 350,000m³/h.
