Cemos completes foundations for Errachidia grinding plant

Cemos has completed foundation works for its second Moroccan cement grinding plant at Errachidia and is targeting commissioning in mid-2027, according to shareholder Baker Steel Resources Trust.

The new plant will use a grinding line acquired in 2022 that Baker Steel describes as essentially identical to Cemos’ existing installation at Tarfaya. Baker Steel expects the project to double Cemos’ production capacity once operational.

At Tarfaya, a compact calcination unit that began producing clinker in October 2025 is operating at around 90 per cent of capacity. Baker Steel expects on-site clinker production to reduce costs, although the resulting margin improvement has yet to be reported. Cemos sold approximately 90,000t of cement in the first half of 2026 and expects full-year sales to be close to the 200,000t achieved in 2025.
