Ecuador produced 492,300t of cement in August 2026, up 3.7 per cent from July, according to the Central Bank of Ecuador. Dispatches fell 5.7 per cent month on month to 464,500t, while inventories rose 78.9 per cent to 46,900t.

The bank suggested that producers may be building stocks ahead of possible El Niño-related disruption to raw material supplies and logistics. It did not report this as a confirmed industry plan.

Despite the monthly decline, August dispatches were 6.6 per cent higher than a year earlier. In January–August, production rose 11 per cent to 3.47Mt and dispatches increased 13 per cent to 3.44Mt compared with the same period of 2025.
