Andhra Cements Ltd has begun commercial production following the expansion of grinding capacity at its Sri Durga Cement Works in Dachepalli, Andhra Pradesh, from 1.82Mta to 3Mta.

Parent company Sagar Cements announced the completion on 28 September, saying the upgrade raises its total group cement capacity to 11.75Mta. The grinding expansion forms part of a wider modernisation programme at Sri Durga Cement Works, where Andhra Cements previously commissioned a new six-stage preheater to increase clinker capacity.
