Breedon Group has appointed chief financial officer James Brotherton as its next group CEO, effective 1 January 2027. He will succeed Rob Wood, who will step down from the board on 31 December 2026 after 12 years with the construction materials group.

Brotherton has been Breedon’s CFO since April 2021 and helped develop its “Expand and Improve” strategy, including the establishment of its US business and move to the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market. He previously served as CFO of Tyman.

Wood joined Breedon as group finance director in 2014 and became CEO in 2021. He will remain an employee until 30 September 2027 to support the transition.
