Heidelberg Materials and CRH have signed separate agreements to acquire NCC AB’s aggregates and asphalt operations across four Nordic markets.

Heidelberg Materials will acquire the Swedish and Norwegian operations for an enterprise value of approximately SEK5.5bn (US$550m). The business comprises 106 aggregates sites with substantial reserves and 44 hot-mix asphalt plants, complementing the group’s existing cement, aggregates and concrete operations.

CRH will acquire NCC Industry’s operations in Denmark and Finland. The Danish portfolio includes asphalt plants and land- and marine-based aggregates sites, while the Finnish business comprises hard-rock quarries, backfilling and recycling operations. CRH did not disclose financial terms.
