CIMAF produces first cement from Gabon expansion

CIMAF’s expanded grinding plant at Owendo, Gabon, produced its first cement on 1 October, according to a project update from contractor Sinoma CBMI.

The expansion adds 1Mta of grinding capacity, taking the plant’s total capacity from 0.85Mta to 1.85Mta, as listed on CIMAF’s website.

Equipment testing, process optimisation and completion work remain under way. First cement production marks a commissioning milestone, although final acceptance and sustained commercial operation have yet to be confirmed.
