China National Building Material (CNBM) expects to report a loss attributable to shareholders of approximately CNY760m for the nine months ended 30 September 2026, compared with a profit of CNY2.96bn (US$443m) in the corresponding period of 2025.
In a profit warning announced on 14 October, the group attributed the anticipated reversal to lower selling prices for cement, ready-mixed concrete and aggregates, alongside reduced sales volumes of cement, ready-mixed concrete and gypsum board. Higher asset impairment provisions also weighed on performance.
These pressures were partly offset by stronger prices for glass fibre and electronic cloth, lower glass-fibre costs and increased sales volumes across several other materials businesses.
The figures are preliminary and unaudited. CNBM expects to publish its third-quarter results by the end of October.
