Mamba Cement Ltd plans to establish a cement grinding and blending plant at Awasi in Kisumu County, western Kenya, with an estimated investment of KES59.98m (US$464,000). It is unclear whether the company is related to the South African company of the same name.

The proposed facility would have a production capacity of approximately 180tpd, according to local reporting citing an environmental and social impact assessment submitted to Kenya’s National Environment Management Authority.

The plant would be located along Awasi Quarry Road, off the Kisumu–Nairobi highway, and primarily serve the western Kenyan market. It would join the existing Rai Cement operation in the area.
