Huaxin subsidiary Cimentos de Moçambique has brought a new clinker production line into operation at its Dondo plant, also known as the Beira cement works, in Mozambique’s Sofala province.

The 3000tpd line began production on 6 October, following an expansion and modernisation programme launched in May 2025. The plant now has approximately 1Mta of clinker capacity and 1.3Mta of cement grinding capacity.

The development strengthens domestic clinker supply and reduces reliance on imports. Modernisation work involved China Railway No.20 Bureau (Moçambique), Lda.
