Isometric has launched Ready for CBAM, a service designed to help cement exporters prepare plant-level emissions data for independent verification under the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
The service supports the preparation of monitoring plans and emissions reports, checks uploaded data for potential problems and reviews submissions against EU requirements. Isometric said its specialists would also help exporters address findings raised by accredited verifiers, although the company does not undertake the formal verification itself.
Turkish producer Cementir is already using the service. Alberto Canale, performance director at Cementir, said the platform had simplified the process of demonstrating the embodied emissions of cement supplied to the EU.
Verified data could substantially reduce exporters’ exposure to CBAM charges. Argus calculations published earlier in 2026 estimated a cost of approximately EUR15/t for Turkish cement reporting emissions of 0.82t CO2/t, compared with almost EUR83/t if the applicable default value were used. The estimates were based on the EU ETS price at the time and do not represent fixed charges.
EU importers must submit their first annual CBAM declarations, covering 2026 imports, by 30 September 2027.
