Holcim Philippines announced Thursday that its board has appointed Sapna Sood as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective 1 November 2016. Ms Sood previously acted as Group Head of Health and Safety at LafargeHolcim and held the position of Head of Helium in the Asia-Pacific region for Linde Group. Canada: McInnis Cement CEO quits after new plant cost overruns

The chief executive officer of McInnis Cement, Christian Gagnon, has stepped down after it emerged that the cost of constructing the company’s new 2.2Mta Port-Daniel integrated plant had gone over budget by CAD450m (US$346m). Fabrizio Donegá has been appointed as new CEO of Cementos Montezuma following the retirement of Pedro Carranza Andersen after 21 years of service with the company. The appointment was formally approved by the Board of the Cementos Molins subsidiary on 3 October 2016. Mr Donegá has extensive experience in the cement industry in key positions at Ciments du Maroc, Vassiliko Cement Works, Shymkentcement and Italcementi.

Antoine Duclaux is the new CEO of Lafarge Central Europe and heads up the future country cluster of Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia. Until recently, he was Senior Vice President Strategy at Lafarge’s headquarters following earlier appointments as Managing Director at Lafarge Emirates Cement, Dubai, and Lafarge Cementos, Honduras.
