Construction work on a long-awaited cement plant in West Pokot County, Kenya, is due to commence early next year, company officials have confirmed. Kenya: Cemtech gains cement plant licences

The government has granted all required licences for the construction of the KES12bn (US$136.9m) Pokot Cement Factory. Rajesh Rawal, Cemtech Sanghi's Group director, said it has taken more than two years for the company to be granted the licenses. Investors in the KES12bn cement factory in Pokot have pledged to complete the project next year after revising its implementation plan. The project was initially scheduled to end this year. Construction of a new cement factory in Pokot, Kenya, which was set to be completed by the end of next year is experiencing delays and is now expected to take longer than expected.
