The latest Construction Trade Survey shows that firms across the construction industry reported an eighth consecutive quarter of growth in activity in the first quarter of 2015. Seasonally-adjusted production in the construction sector fell in February 2015 fell by 1.8 per cent in the euro area (EA19) and by 1.2 per cent in the EU28 compared with January 2015, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Nomura says its interactions with cement dealers across India suggest demand was weak in the January-March period because of lower use of cement by government-related projects, reports Dow Jones. In January 2015 seasonally-adjusted production in the construction sector grew by 1.9 per cent in the euro area and by one per cent in the EUR28 compared with December 2014, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Construction output in the eurozone contracted in December, led by falls in Germany and Spain, according to the Eurostat, the European Union's statistical office.
