Ghacem opens new depot

Ghacem Ltd has opened a new depot in Sefwi-Wiawso, Ghana. The company now has six depots, with the latest being part of a scheme to increase cement availability in the Western Region. The depot has a 3000t capacity and will be used to store weekly deliveries for local towns, reports Joy Online. First cement shipment arrives at Barranqueras port

The first shipment of 3964t of cement was unloaded at the Argentine port of Barranqueras, Chaco region. The Bolivian cement was purchased by Cemento Avellaneda and will be distributed throughout the north of Argentina. Some 50,000tpa of cement was imported into Argentina in 2016 and 2017, according to The Global Cement Report, 12th Edition.

Lipetskcement brings new logistics facility online

Lipetskcement, part of the Eurocement Group, has launched a new RUB600m (US$10.4m) production and logistics facility for packing, palletising and shipping of cement. The investment enables Lipetskcement to ship up to 10,000tpd of cement. The company has increased its loading rate of bulk cement trucks by more than five times. In the packing section, the bagging rate has more than doubled to 2400bags/h.

Cemex launches new distribution terminal in Denver

Cemex USA has launched operations at a new rail-served cement distribution terminal in Commerce City, Colorado. Namibian cement producer Ohorongo Cement was host to Clemens Kashuupulwa, governor of the Oshana region, who opened the company’s new cement depot in Ondangwa. Paraguay: INC to increase distribution points

Paraguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) expects to increase its number of distributors following the rise in producttion in the second half of this year, according to its Managing Director, Jorge Méndez.
