In May 2012, construction work started on a new filter-type electrostatic precipitator (ESF) at Taiheiyo Cement Corp’s Fujiwara cement plant in Japan. The latest upgrade would improve the work’s environmental performance due to its superior dust collection efficiency compared to conventional electrostatic precipitators (ESPs). Air emissions reduced

Saudi Arabia is improving its environmental record by enforcing stricter emissions targets for cement producers. Many of the older plants are modernising their dust control technology. Eastern Cement recently invited FLSmidth to reduce its particle emissions and increase its filter efficiency by installing two new fabric filters on two of its kiln lines and by converting two ESP units into bag filters for the alkali bypass system.
