PPC to construct Harare mill, Zimbabwe

PPC said it would spend US$80m on a cement mill in Harare, Zimbabwe, to be commissioned in 2016. The new mill, to be funded by a corporate loan, is expected to boost operating efficiencies. Contract for new CMS grinding unit set to be signed

The contract for CMS Cement’s new MYR190m grinding plant project on Sarawak, Malaysia, is due to be signed early next month, according to group managing director, Richard Curtis. OCC quarterly profit affected by lower output

Oman Cement Co (OCC) reported a 47 per cent decline in net profit to OMR3.70m (US$9.61m) for the first three months of the year as a planned kiln shut down for expansion works affects production and lowers profitability. Recent orders for Cemengal in Saudi Arabia and Mauritania

Cemengal has received a second order from a Saudi Arabian client for the supply of its Plug&Grind® (P&G) process technology. It has also received two orders for the system in Mauritania. The P&G units are complete cement grinding and packing stations based on a ball mill grinding facility. They are assembled in Spain with European components and compacted into eight or nine standard containters making it easier to transport. The P&G system has the capacity to produce 100,000tpa of OPC.

Oman Cement to obtain a loan to finance new mill project

Oman Cement has decided to obtain a loan from a leading Omani bank to finance a new mill at its existing plant with an expected expenditure of US$39m.
