The supervisory board of HeidelbergCement Ukraine, based in Dnipropetrovsk region, appointed David von Lingen Deputy General Manager on 8 February 2013. Von Lingen is appointed Deputy General Manager until 8 July 2014. The company supervisory board also decided to dismiss management board members Roman Osada and Pyotr Grigorchuk, and to appoint Marina Muhodinova a board member. Georgia: HeidelbergCement starts Kaspi plant construction

HeidelbergCement has launched construction of a new cement plant in Kaspi, Shida Kartli region of Georgia. The output of the new factory will be 1Mta and in the future production capacity will be raised to 2.8Mta, the management says. The preliminary figures from HeidelbergCement show an 8.7 per cent advance in turnover last year to €14,020m, or by 4.2 per cent on a comparative basis. HeidelbergCement India Ltd (HCL) has completed the first step towards raising its capacity in central India by increasing grinding capacity at its Jhansi grinding works in Uttar Pradesh. The Ghacem Cement Foundation (GCF) has given 17,500 bags cement to communities in the Northern Sector of Ghana to help boost infrastructural development.
