Deutsche Bank lowers China demand forecast

According to the latest research report by Deutsche Bank, cement demand forecast was lowered to 4.5 per cent, due to the recent slowdown in the real estate market in China. However, the forecast still exceeds cement supply of 1.9 per cent. The target prices of cement stocks were reduced in accordance with the adjustments on sales volume and average selling prices.

Cemex announced Tuesday that it has completed 640 apartments in Colombia as part of a 3000-unit urbanisation project being undertaken by the company in collaboration with the country's government. Colombian cement demand expanded by 11.7 per cent in February 2014 compared to the previous year with dispatches reaching 924,000t, according to the statistics office, Dane.
