Huaxin Cement Co of China has signed an agreement to invest US$150m in the construction of a 1Mta cement plant in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan. The deal was signed by Berdybek Saparbayev, governor of the Aktobe region, and Xu Yongmo, chairman of the board of Huaxin Cement. Huaxin acquires stake in Cambodian plant

China's Huaxin Cement Co Ltd has bought a 40 per cent stake in Cement Chakrey Ting Factory Co Ltd of Cambodia. The US$24m investment was announced on 17 June, according to a recent company announcement. After the investment, the Cambodia cement producer's registered capital grew to US$60m from US$32m. The Hubei province-based cement manufacturer says the acquisition in Cambodia is the company's second overseas investment after establishing a subsidiary in Tajikistan in 2011.

Huaxin Cement positive 1Q profit alert, China

Huaxin Cement Co Ltd anticipates net profit for 1Q14 to increase by 350-400 per cent YoY, compared with a profit of CNY25.74m in the corresponding period of 2013, the company said. The Hubei Province-based company, part of the Holcim group, attributes the profit growth to increasing cement product sales and prices.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon attended a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of a greenfield cement plant in Gayur-Sughdcement, in the Bobojonghafourov district, Sughd province. Huaxin Cement sees net profit down 48.32% in 2012

Huaxin Cement Co Ltd, part of the Holcim Group, said net profit last year fell 48.32 per cent to CNY556m (US$91m). It attributed the reduction to severe price competition and its profit contribution to Holcim declined. Huaxin Cement, which is based in the Hubei province, saw operating revenue for 2012 slid 0.93 per cent YoY to CNY12.52bn (US$2bn).

Huaxin Cement expects H1 net profit to drop 50%, China

Huaxin Cement Co Ltd, in which Holcim holds an approximate 42 per cent stake, has become the latest Chinese producer to issue a first-half profit warning.  The Hubei Province-based cement manufacturer said on 9 July that its net profit is expected to fall by at least 50% YoY in the first half of 2012 due to a decline in cement prices.
