Dalmia Cement Bharat is set to commission its greenfield cement works in Belgaum, Karnataka, in five months, taking total group capacity to over 20Mta. Ambuja Cements is set to resume mining operations in Himachal Pradesh after the High Court granted a stay on the Ministry of Environment and Forest’s (MoEF) suspension order which was issued at the beginning of February 2014. Pakistan’s export volumes fell 7.5 per cent YoY in the first seven months of the current Pakistan fiscal, while revenues were also down 13 per cent over the same period. ACC has inaugurated a blended cement plant at Padubidri in Udupi district in the Karnataka state of India. Cement producers in southern India have begun exporting to Myanmar in a bid to boost utilisation rates as regional domestic demand remains subdued. According to reports by The Times of India, Chettinad Cements, India Cements, Dalmia Cements and Ramco Cement have started shipments to Myanmar in the past few months.
