Italcementi approved a capital increase for up to EUR450m, and a voluntary public tender offer on all the minority shares it does not already own in French subsidiary Ciments Francais at EUR78/share. Italcementi's turnover declined by 5.4 per cent in 2013 to EUR4235.4m, or by 2.2 per cent on a comparable basis. The Italcementi group has held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new kiln line at its Shymkent Cement in south Kazakhstan. Plant managing director, Gabriel Morin, said the capacity of the new dry-process cement line would be 1.2Mta. The project will take 20 months to complete, Kazakhstan General Newswire reported. Italcementi subsidiary Zuari Cement has started construction of new grinding unit in the Solapur District in the western state of Maharashtra, India.
