China Gezhouba Group reports that its wholly-owned subsidiary Gezhouba Group Cement signed an agreement with Hubei Zhongxia Cement on 26 November, for a joint venture company that will restructure the businesses and assets of Zhongxia Cement. Lafarge announces joint venture with Elementia, Mexico

Lafarge announces it has reached an agreement with Elementia to combine their cement assets in Mexico. Lafarge will bring its two plants of Vito and Tula for a total capacity close to 1Mta, while Elementia will contribute the new 1Mta plant it is currently building in central Mexico. Japan's leading cement producer Taiheiyo Cement Corp announced that its Chinese sub sidiary Taiheiyo Cement (China) Investment Corp, has signed a joint venture agreement with Xinjian Tianye (Group) Co in Beijing.
