Cemex improves first-quarter trading profit

Cemex' first-quarter turnover declined by 5.3 per cent to US$3399.87m, but EBITDA did improve by 6.3 per cent to US$568.54m. Helped by a 12.7 per cent reduction in the depreciation and amortisation charge, the trading profit rose by 25.3 per cent to US$335.32m. Cemex increases first-quarter volumes

Cemex' first-quarter turnover increased by 8.2 per cent to US$3590.7m, while the EBITDA improved by 2.7 per cent to US$535m. The trading profit rose by 11.7 per cent to US$267.7m. Cemex expects best volume growth from USA

Cemex reported a slight decline in turnover for the first half of 2013, with EBITDA also down marginally but the trading profit improved by double digits. While volumes were down in the first six months, the group sees full year sales edging ahead with the USA expected to show the best advance.
