Iran to launch Venezuelan cement factory in March

Iranian-built cement factory in Venezuela "Cerro Azul" is to be launched in March 2012, according to local press reports. Iranian Ehdas Sanat Company signed a contract with Venezuelan government in 2005 for building the cement firm in the country costing US$198m. JK Cement begins construction of UAE cement plant

India’s JK Cement has started construction of a white cement plant in the UAE, the completion of which could make it a top five player in the niche market of white cement. The company’s vice president N. JK Lakshmi to invest in capacity expansion, India

JK Lakshmi Cement is ensuring it is well placed for a revival in future domestic demand by planning to spend US$386m in the next financial year on expanding capacity, the Wall Street Journal reports. Indonesia’s largest cement producer, PT Semen Gresik, plans to invest up to US$600,000 on five cement packing plants to be constructed in a number of locations on the island of Kalimantan.
