The Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU , Lapai, has completed mapping and characterisation of industrial mineral deposits in Nasarawa, Kwara and Niger states. Production is due to start at Dangote’s new 1.5Mta cement grinding plant in Bouansa, Republic of Congo, this month, according to the company. Dangote Cement has broken ground on a new a 1Mta cement factory in Niger, state radio in the western African country announced on Thursday. President of Niger Mahamadou Issoufou formally started building work on the factory on Wednesday at Keita, around 600km northeast of the capital Niamey. Sales growth at Dangote Cement continues to outpace the Nigerian cement market with group sales volumes up 29.5 per cent to 9.95Mt, compared to the same period last year.
