Hail Cement resumes operations after shutdown

Saudi Arabia’s Hail Cement has resumed operations of its production line after shutting down for maintenance works . However, cement crushers and its packaging line remained active during the shutdown. The financial impact of the temporary stoppage is expected to appear in 3Q results.

Cemex has announced that it is the first company in the industry to successfully operate plants by remote control. The company’s monitoring and remote control system, Centro de Control Cemento (C3), operates in real time and tracks the live data of 14 cement plants, 25 kilns and 86 grinding mills in Mexico, alongside a facility in Colombia and another in the US. FLSmidth has signed a contract with Arabian Cement Company (ACC) for operation and maintenance of the production lines at its cement plant located near the city of Suez in Egypt.
